A few years back, taking refuge from the deadly rays of the Arizona sun, young Charlie Brand discovered he had a knack for writing songs. Wondrous melodies ricocheted around his bedroom, destroying textbooks and posters, practically bursting through the walls. Songs too big to be contained. And too dangerous.  Songs with the potential to cripple civilizations.

How to channel such savage power? How to use it for good? Charlie's path seemed clear.

He left home and set out on a journey to bring this music to the world, eventually finding himself in the wilds of Los Angeles. He had little more than a hobo sack to his name, the songs in his head and a name: Miniature Tigers. Now if only he had bandmates.

Yes, in due time he did find them. The necessary individuals appeared to Charlie in the form of gleeful wildman drummer Rick Alvin Shaier and the mysterious, yet affable, Eli Brandom.

Lineup complete, Miniature Tigers combine influences ranging from The Beatles to The Beach Boys, from "Pinkerton" to Indiana Jones, creating infectious, pitch perfect indie-pop that boldly wears its heart on its sleeve. In the world of Miniature Tigers, songs of unrequited love and relationship anxiety are transformed with animal metaphors and translated into gripping adventure narratives populated by vikings, swashbucklers, gunfighters, cannibals, undersea creatures, and dinosaurs.

Through growing up together, the boys of AKUDAMA have become masters of creating thoughtful, eclectic & eccentric rock music. Self-taught melodic savant Blake Charleton began writing music with brothers Calvin and Cayce Pia 7 years ago while still attending High School in a small town called Weston, Connecticut. After several years of hiatus spent traveling, learning, and absorbing life’s infinite inspirations, the trio of young-twenty-somethings reunited in 2008 in Brooklyn to reboot the project. With the recent addition of bassist Andrew Pertes, the group has become an active and aggressive force in the NYC indie-rock scene, and has proven to be a strong touring act throughout the Northeast and Midwest. The live show is relentlessly engaging. The band's creative ambition is unlimited, consistently proven with their self-recorded/released “Free EP of the Month” series, which, after 11 months and 11 releases, has resulted in a remarkable catalog of music.

AKUDAMA’s sound is a collage of musical inspiration; the explosiveness of Broken Social Scene, the vivid production of Doves, the lush harmonies of the Zombies, the lyrical depth of old Modest Mouse, the pop-precision of the Shins. The result is a sound that is undeniably their own, focusing on the craft of song, not gimmick. After all, it is about the music— and AKUDAMA makes that abundantly clear. The band has made their entire catalog available for free streaming and purchase at www.akudama.bandcamp.com

It’s been 3 years since
The Spinto Band burst onto the rock world with their infectious indie-pop masterworks on Nice and Nicely Done (Bar-None Records). But it hasn’t been a quiet 3 years. In that period of time, The Spinto Band have expanded their reach throughout the World with releases on Virgin UK, an appearance on Later… With Jools Holland, a performance at Fuji Rock in Japan, tours supporting Rilo Kiley, the Arctic Monkeys, Art Brut, the Strokes, Dr. Dog, and many more, including opening up for the Flaming Lips at SXSW!

After constant touring and the worldwide release of their acclaimed album Nice and Nicely Done, The Spinto Band found themselves eager to record new material. The band took it upon themselves to oversee the assembly of their next album. With Moonwink complete The Spinto Band is once again ready to dazzle listeners with their skewed approach to song-craft.
